Data controller

ventit is the data controller for any personal data collected through the service. This page explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

What we don't collect

The words you type and any voice recording never leave your device. We do not store them, send them, or log them anywhere. Voice audio is captured only into a temporary in-memory buffer that is discarded when you tap "Vent".

What we do store

• A number in your browser's localStorage tracking how many times you've vented, so we can enforce the 5-free-vents limit.
• A flag in localStorage once you unlock the $4.99 tier, so the app knows to skip the paywall on this device.
• A single anonymous global counter of total vents across all users. It's just a number — no words, no identity, no IP.

Payment data

When you purchase the $4.99 unlock, Paddle — our online reseller and Merchant of Record — collects the information required to process the payment, such as your email address and payment method details. Paddle handles this data for sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing. We do not receive or store your full payment information. Legal basis

We process local device data on the basis of contract performance (to provide the vent limit and unlock features you request) and legitimate interests (to maintain a secure, functional app).

Data sharing

We share data only with the following categories of recipients:

• Paddle — our Merchant of Record, for payment processing, tax compliance, and customer service.
• Hosting/infrastructure providers — to keep the app online.
• Professional advisers — legal or accounting professionals, when required.
• Authorities — only when required by law.

Data retention

Local device data stays in your browser until you clear it. Anonymous global counter data is retained only as long as necessary to operate the app and is not tied to any individual.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Because ventit is anonymous and stores almost no personal data, most requests can be fulfilled by clearing your browser data. Contact hello.ventit@gmail.com for any privacy-related request.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect the limited data we handle.

No third-party analytics

ventit does not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar trackers.
